A New Dawn

Things have moved on since being at Royal Ascot with Hillbilly Boy, an experience we will never forget but a result we hope to improve on. Billy has had a well earned break since the biggest race of his life and his preparation is now in full swing for his next task, a Group 3 race at Longchamp on the 7th of September.

He is likely to get the type of ground he relishes so we’re very excited to see how he competes at this level. He seems to have strengthened over the summer and may just have a little bit of improvement left in him.

It has been a year of many firsts with this horse so how fitting that he should be not only our first international runner but also our first runner in a Group race.

Indomitable Spirit at Yarmouth

Yesterday we passed another milestone having our first 2 year old runner, Indomitable Spirit at Yarmouth. He is such a laid back character that the hustle and bustle of racing was always going to be a big shock to him. He has practiced doing plenty of fast work at home but there’s no substitute for the real thing and this experience will stand him in good stead for the future. He was really well behaved in the build up and will come back stronger and wiser.

No Refund has had a couple of runs for us now and seems to be going the right way, if not tomorrow he will be losing his maiden tag soon.

Khelfan is making steady headway, she did well to get a prominent postition early on but just used up a little too much energy in doing so from a terrible draw.

Amberjam is penciled in for a novice hurdle at Worcester on the 19th, we were really pleased with his first run over hurdles and hope to see him come on.

We also have Notebook -our new @Little_P_Racing horse- and Invisible Touch looking to run at the July course later this month. Can’t wait! 🙂
